South Florida Minority Supplier Development Council honors Baptist Health South Florida as Local Corporation of the Year

      MIAMI, FL – Baptist Health South Florida was recently honored as the 2012 Local Corporation of the Year by the South Florida Minority Supplier Development Council.  The Local Corporation of the Year Award is the highest award presented to a current Local Corporate Member of the Southern Florida Minority Supplier Development Council. The Corporation of the Year demonstrates a commitment to minority purchasing, technical and managerial assistance and sponsorship of minority programs.        

     “I was delighted to accept the award for Local Corporation of the Year from the Southern Florida Minority Supplier Development Council, on behalf of Baptist Heath South Florida and our highly diverse work force of over 15,000 employees,” said Frank Fernandez, Assistant Vice President of Supply Chain Services for Baptist Health South Florida. “Our organization supports a fair and equitable sourcing process that includes doing business with qualified Minority Business Enterprises.”

     The mission of the Southern Florida Minority Supplier Development Council is to link Corporations and Government Agencies with Minority Business Enterprises to foster business development and expansion. Baptist Health South Florida is represented on the Board of Directors of the Southern Florida Minority Supplier Development Council, and supports the organization’s mission to promote “a diverse and inclusive environment where economic success is achieved.”
