St. George Park & Community Center Holds Ribbons Cutting in Honor of Legendary Coach Richard Butch Ingram, Jr.

Richard “Butch” Ingram was a principled man who served his community tirelessly as a husband, father, mentor, and basketball coach. Butch attended Dillard High School where he played basketball and won two state championships.

He then went on to Mississippi Industrial College and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. As a head coach at Dillard, Piper, Douglas, and Boyd Anderson high schools, Coach Butch touched the lives of many students within the Lauderhill community. Butch is remembered for being a fervent leader who exemplified fortitude, faith, integrity, and family values.

Among his many accolades, Coach Ingram was inducted as a member of the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame and the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches ‘Courts of Legends’ in 2015. He was also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
