According to a press statement from the Lafayette Police Department, at least two persons were killed, and four others were injured in a shooting at a block party early Sunday in Indiana. According to the press release, more than 100 people attended the party at a Lafayette apartment complex. Just before 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired. “Police discovered numerous shell casings inside and outside the unit, as well as multiple apartments and cars hit by gunfire,” according to the press release. Officials are attempting to identify the deceased individuals so that their relatives can be notified. “It’s still a fluid issue,” police stated, adding that “new evidence is being unearthed and new people and victims are being identified.”
