“81 countries have not reported any #COVID 19 cases, and 57 countries have reported 10 cases or less. We cannot say this loudly enough, or clearly enough: all countries can still change the course of the pandemic,” says Dr. Tedros –of the World Health Organization.

This is a new strain of the Coronavirus, and there is no designed treatment for the virus. President Trump initially started his discussion by saying that the virus was a hoax, and the Democrats were creating fake news. It was obvious that our president had not initially researched and studied this virus around the world, and his information was wrong.

“Like other coronavirus strains, 2019-nCOV typically starts with flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Six coronaviruses are known to infect people, with 2019-nCOV being the seventh. In rare cases, coronaviruses can lead to lower respiratory tract infection such as pneumonia or bronchitis. These tend to occur in babes, the elderly or those with weak immune systems, and fatalities are occurring as a result of pneumonia,” says the American Lung Association.

The experts say this strain started in China, in the city of Wuhan, the capitol of Hubei, and has infected around 10,000 people. It originated at a seafood market in Wahan, who sold a range of live meat, such as donkeys, poultry, camels, foxes, rats, bats, and snakes. Most of those who got sick worked and visited the market.

According to the World Health Organization, coronavirus can be passed from person to person by coughing, sneezing, shaking hands, or touching a contaminated object. There is no specific treatment for coronavirus according to the Centers of Disease Control.

In order to stop or slow the spread of infectious diseases, social distancing measures are taken to restrict when and where people can gather or stop. Avoid crowded places, sporting events, community festivals, concerts, and avoid public transit if possible.

Protect yourself and your community, by washing your hand often with soap and water for 20 seconds. Avoid shopping at peak hours, and don’t shake hands at social gatherings. At social and business meeting it is important to have someone take your temperature. Staying well is important, and knowing when you are sick is essential

This is a global pandemic and President Trump has now called this a National Health Emergency, and $50 billion in aid is available from the federal government to control and invest in the economy. America is in a recession, and there is a global recession. There is a need for an economic stimulus program in America.

During Ex-President Obama’s recession, he created a stimulus program worth $787 billion, which created jobs, cut taxes and helped business stay afloat. Until there is more information on the virus, America will eventfully be shut down. Many Americans will lose their jobs, and the global supply chain will be destroyed. This will have a ripple effect in all the industries, and the next two quarters will have negative growth.

It is time to accept that the American economy is in a recession, and the National Health Emergency is growing, and keeping businesses open will be difficult. This is a challenging time for families, schools, businesses, and local, state, and federal governments. Hour by hour, day by day economic activities have grinded to a halt.

The world health leaders will solve this pandemic, but for now change your daily habits and follow the infectious disease guidelines, and stay healthy.
