The Eta Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. host Easter Egg Hunt and blood drive

The joyous and gleeful faces of children after receiving their Easter baskets.

    By Basileus Antonio Brihm

On March 30, 2013, The Eta Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., located in Pompano Beach, Florida, held its annual Easter Egg Hunt at Mitchell Moore Park. In conjunction with the Easter Egg Hunt, there was also collaboration with The Community Blood Centers of South Florida to hold a blood drive which proved tremendously successful.

The Easter Egg Hunt was well attended with over one hundred children   accompanied by numerous parents.  There were 90 dozen eggs hidden and 88 baskets given away.  Aside from the egg hunt and basket giveaway, guests were invited to share in food and refreshments prepared by the Brothers of the Eta Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi. Eta Nu’s Basileus (president) , Antonio Brihm, expressed great pleasure with the event’s outcome  and the support of the 47 brothers  in attendance, making  this an exciting and memorable event for the youth.

The events held today are just two examples of the many events Eta NU will sponsor in and around the Pompano Beach community.    We are proud to be a beacon of light and to be able to go out into the community, providing uplift to those in need.  It also gives the fraternity great pleasure to work with Community Blood Centers of South Florida and the Charles R. Drew Foundation in the continual perpetuation of the legacy of one of Omega’s  most famous and storied fraternity brothers.
