The family of an American college student studying in France has requested assistance in locating him after he has not been heard from in more than two weeks. According to his family, Kenny DeLand Jr. is a senior at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York, who has been studying at the University of Grenoble Alpes. The school is located in eastern France, about 75 miles southeast of Lyon. DeLand’s parents say he hasn’t been in touch with them since November 27. “We don’t understand why he isn’t reaching out to us on a daily or every other day basis like he used to because that is just not Kenny.” Deland’s family has set up a website where people can send tips and information to help find him. A missing person’s report has been filed, according to the family, and bank records show Kenny DeLand Jr. last made a purchase at a store on December 3. According to his family, there has been no trace of him since. “University officials have maintained close contact with the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), which is assisting local law enforcement with the search, as well as Kenneth’s family to offer them support during this difficult time.” Our campus community is still hoping Kenneth will be found safe and returned home.”
