The Sole of our Souls

The foot is a body part talked about extensively over time. A common practice in times past would be to wash a person’s feet when entering the home. This was because we traveled barefoot, and we were simultaneously giving respect to the soles of our feet that carried us on our journey. Different areas of the soles of the foot are linked to different parts of the body. When we think of the surfaces that we walk on and what we walk on them with, we must recognize that these things have changed a lot over the last 50 to 60 years or so. Riding or living on a dirt road was common back in the days. Although it is recorded that paved roads existed since 4000 B.C., it took time for communities to be architecturally developed to have the interstates, highways, and street patterns that we see today.

These changes also changed the type of shoes we wear and our physical connection to the soil that is the true foundation of all these new constructions. We build on the soil. We were able to walk barefoot comfortably on the natural ground in the days before. We were not concerned with excess waste, manmade surfaces, or broken glass connecting with our soles like we are today. It is also common practice to wear shoes, especially in this Nation. If someone is seen traveling barefoot, they are viewed as abnormal. But are there any benefits to walking barefoot? Were those of times past aware of something that we have now become disconnected with?

We are energy beings and operate within a realm of energetic connections. Each of our energy centers in our body has a positive and negative polarity that gives power to our physical existence. The Earth itself has charges, poles, electromagnetic fields, and a flow of energy that affects us whether we are aware of it or not. The Universe exhibits different energy patterns and has different effects on us depending on the positioning of the planets, stars, Sun, Moon, etc. Whenever energy is present, grounding should be a part of the conversation. Grounding is necessary to prevent dangerous voltage levels and create a balance for the charge going through the body, home, device, or vehicle.

Placing our bare feet on the natural ground allows for excess charge that could be damaging to the body to leave. This can potentially help with issues of the body caused by free radicals, as it will give a place for that loose charge to go. Simply putting our feet on the natural ground could relieve stress, sickness, and positively impact the blood that flows through every organ of our bodies. There is a reason why going to the beach with our soles in the sand and in the ocean water puts us in a calm, relaxed, and clear state of mind. There is a reason why some farmers or gardeners work in their soil barefoot. When barefoot, there is a connection being formed with our bodies that is not barricaded by thick man-made separators also known as the soles of our shoes.

The way we live currently, we have to intentionally ground ourselves. It has to be a conscious thought. We are separated from the Earth in so many ways that we now deem normal. The soles of our shoes provide a thick barrier that prevents any charge from leaving our bodies as they are made with manmade materials. Although we previously used natural materials to construct all things that come in contact with our bodies, technology has generated new synthetic replicas that we have substituted for real materials. Not only do we have these shoes preventing our bodies from grounding, but we also deal with the streets, sidewalks, driveways, house foundations, flooring, etc. that separates us from what has been here with a balancing and living charge that paved the way for human existence, referring to the soil.

When we see how things are connected and how energy works, we can then understand what our bodies need for balance. When we better understand the benefits of the soil, we may respond differently to children playing in the soil barefoot or their desire to take their shoes off. When we feel the effects of grounding our bodies, minds, and spirits, we would intentionally make it a part of our day-to-day activities. We then become aware of the power in our soles that invigorate our souls.
