    The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating a hit and run which resulted in a fatality that occurred on Monday, October 26th at approximately 8:45 p.m. The incident occurred in the 1100 Block of Northwest 15th Avenue in the City of Fort Lauderdale.

    Preliminary investigation has revealed that a juvenile pedestrian was crossing Northwest 15th Avenue at Northwest 11th Street. As the pedestrian was crossing the roadway she was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Northwest 15th Avenue. The driver of the vehicle continued traveling northbound, failing to stop to seek or render aid to the pedestrian.

    The juvenile pedestrian was transported to Broward Health Medical Center with life-threating injuries where she was later pronounced deceased.

    The pedestrian has been identified as Jaliah Cross, B/F, 03/21/2000, a resident of the City of Fort Lauderdale.

    The investigation into this fatality is on-going.
