Vanessa K. De Luca, editor in chief of the new ZORA for Medium publication, is among several prominent journalists last week who attended the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Miami August 7 -11. ZORA is aimed at giving women of color a forum of expression that goes beyond stereotypes.
DeLuca is among several journalists who took part in a panel on Thursday about the U.S. Census. She moderated a panel “Confronting Diversity” on Friday.
De Luca conceived the publication to provide women of color and various backgrounds with an opportunity to “speak their truth without apology” on a myriad of issues.
ZORA has engaged high-profile people like Senator Kamala Harris, Yara Shahidi as well as high-profile journalists such as Farai Chideya, Morgan Jerkins, Feminista Jones, Charlene Carruthers, and Danielle Moodie Mills
The publication covers topics such as politics, social justice, culture, everyday life, and health and wellness.
