To learn more about the story of “Whoamentoring Works”

The original concept and name of Whoamentoring Works was conceptualized by Founder and President, Dr. K. Kymrae Hill.  The concept derives firstly from her innate passion for women empowerment and philanthropy, but later through her doctoral studies and her dissertation research findings, she found that there is an imperative need for stronger mentoring and empowering programs for women specifically.  The name “Whoamentoring Works” was also thoughtfully created.

When broken down, it is “whoa” + “mentoring” and “works.”

(“Whoa” is briefly defined by us as a subject that commands pause or reconsideration)

(“Mentoring” is defined by us as a process that provides guidance and assistance; oftentimes in professional sponsorship and is also useful and valuable to all parties involved.) and (“Works” is defined as mental and physical effort completed to achieve a purpose or a result).

Additionally, we affectionately embrace that we as women also put the “whoa” in “men” and “-mentoring,” earning the title, “Whoa Women”, needless to say, Whoamentoring Works, Inc. was birthed.

MISSION: To be the premier non-profit organization that responds to the “whoa” imperative need for stronger mentoring programs and empowering events for young and seasoned women to help them develop in every area of their lives.

Considering that Whoawomen are superheroes, our logo was crafted and constructed from the necessary inspiration of the late brilliant inventor, William Marston’s original design of the Wonder Woman.  He believed Wonder Woman was a model of that era’s unconventional liberated woman. The irony is Wonder Woman was created in the early 1940’s, but what she stood for, still stands strong today. This is a belief that Whoamentoring Works’ members holds close to our hearts today too. This foundation provides the basis for our empowering events and Whoa Women mentoring curriculum as well.

Finally, our Turquoise Color: Seeking our self-actualization point (or highest potential) is an imperative tenet to becoming a Whoa Woman.  Therefore, we also selected our signature color, Turquoise very pridefully and carefully.  We chose Turquoise as our leading color, because of its psychological and spiritual meanings.  Turquoise represents clarity, balance and harmony, and inspires high-energy, self-expression, healing, and personal growth.  Some synonyms associated with the color are refreshing, wholeness, wisdom, feminine, spiritual grounding, friendship, love, joy, patience, sophisticated, and loyalty.

I am available to speak to an audience (and can do so in less than 3-5 minutes) about the conference.  We also understand the efforts put into promoting a conference and getting participants to attend; therefore, we would love to partner in any way with your organization.  This means potentially offering a vending table, adding your logo to our photo backdrop, or time to introduce your organization to our attendees during the conference.  We would also be willing to provide a group discount if you are able to bring in a group of 10 or more.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to me in the interim with any additional questions.  Thanks again for your support!
