Zeta Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. awards six $1,000.00 scholarships

On Saturday, March 18th, 2013 – Zeta Chi Chapter hosted its annual Talent Hunt Competition and Scholarship Awards at KC Wright Education Center (Delta House).
2013 TALENT HUNT CONTESTANT WINNERS
Davia Norris – First Place (Contemporary Dance), Junior at Dillard High School; Jake Pardo and Rashaan Salaam – Second Place (Instrumental Jazz Duet), eighth grade at Parkway Middle School; Alvin Anderson – Third Place (Piano Solo), Junior at Dillard High School
Cash prizes were awarded to first, second and third place winners. All contestants received a certificate of participation and were awarded gift cards donated by State Farm Agent – Grace Swaby Smith.
First place winner Ms. Davia Norris of Dillard High School will represent the Zeta Chi Chapter at the Florida State-wide Talent Competition to be hosted in the City of Orlando, Florida. Brother Von Howard served as the Talent Hunt Chairperson.
2013 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
The Zeta Chi Chapter awarded six $1,000.00 scholarships to graduating high school seniors of Broward County. Listed below are the names of award recipients, high school and college selection.
Scholarship Recipients: Chasity Alexander, Piper High, Broward College; Devaney Allen, St Thomas Aquinas, St. John University; Kimi Farrington, Pompano Beach High, Howard University; Trezher Dukes, Dillard High, Bethune Cookman University; Romello Walker, Dillard High, South Kent; Reginald Goosby, Cardinal Gibson High, Thiel College; Johnnie Smith, Scholarship Chairperson and Anthony Williams, Basileus.
