Face Off for the new BCPS Facelift

     Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. The results of races came pouring in last Tuesday and there were some winners, some losers and some interesting “to be continued’” to come.

     National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) President and CEO Benjamin F. Chavis Jr. has received the President Joseph R. Biden Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award for Community Service and Civil Rights.

     The residents of Jackson, Mississippi — already dealing with flooded streets — are now also faced with another problem: There isn’t enough water to flush toilets or fight fires due to issues at the main water treatment facility, according to Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves.

Also charged are current Louisiana Police Department Sergeant Kyle Meany, and former detective Brett Hankison.

     Biden announced up to $20,000 in debt cancellation for Pell Grant recipients and as much as $10,000 to non-Pell Grant recipients.

     Misfeasance is conduct that is lawful but harms another person financially or physically due to carelessness or an accident. In other words, the Grand Jury found that Board members had a duty to act but failed to act in the safety and wellbeing of others. Miriam and Webster explains that malfeasance is a much higher degree than misfeasance. Malfeasance is when a state official violates ethical laws pertaining to their duties in office which is cause for their removal. So, from what the Detective can deduce, the removal of the four Board members was due to malfeasance while in office.

Governor Ron DeSantis removed Broward School Board Members Patricia Good, Donna Korn, Ann Murray, and Laurie Rich Levinson from office after the Twentieth Statewide Grand Jury recommended that they be removed due to incompetence, neglect of duty, and abuse of authority.

       Ten South Florida class of 2022 high school graduates from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties were awarded a $20,000 scholarship for Black students in STEM from Florida Power & Light Company and parent company NextEra Energy.
