The off-year elections will more than likely include races for Mayors, Council members, Commissioners and other seats such as political vacancies resulting from deaths, resignations and political expulsions.

Abortion was NOT always a topic in the national discourse! Republicans turned it into a draw for their evangelical voter base. Reagan paraded the pro-life stance in his presidential bid, despite liberalizing California’s abortion laws as governor! The GOP never lets hypocrisy get in the way, and it’s been downhill for women’s bodily autonomy ever since.

America can now add the Afghanistan War,  including Korean and Vietnam, as another tragedy and costly defeat. The premise for the first two wars was to stop the spread of communism. The war in Afghanistan resulted from our efforts to capture and punish Osama bin Laden.      The film opens nationwide in November. Not only is Smith being talked about for a shoe-in for Oscar buzz, there is another celebrity that could earn Oscar buzz as well, its Beyonce. It has been reported that Queen Bee wrote the original song for the film. She co-wrote the song “Be Alive” with DIXSON. Although it’s pretty early to talk about Oscar buzz, let’s just hope our people show up for this biopic. “Our” people did not really show up for the “Respect” biopic.
