The City of Miami Gardens proudly announces March 14th and 15th dates for the annual Jazz in the Gardens (JITG) Music Festival at the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens, Florida.  The 2020 event marks JITG’s milestone 15th anniversary in bringing world-renown talent to South Florida in a celebration of music, art and culture.

With the start of the 2019/2020 school year approaching, Broward Health, Memorial Healthcare System, and Community Care Plan are pleased to announce the launch of Vaccinate Broward, a collaboration to ensure that children in Broward County are fully vaccinated. Vaccinate Broward will educate the public about disease prevention through vaccination, dispel common misconceptions about vaccinations, and provide free vaccinations to Broward County children and young adults on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

   Over 30 million people in the United States have been diagnosed with both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes—including nearly 13% of all non-Hispanic Black people. According to the Office of Minority Health at the Department of Health and Human Services, African Americans are 80% more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes and the majority of them are women.

The Honorable Charles Dodson, Leon County Circuit Court Judge, has ruled in favor of the City of Fort Lauderdale along with 29 other municipalities, three counties, and more than 70 elected officials who challenged the constitutionality of civil penalties and removal provisions against local lawmakers who attempt to implement gun safety regulations.
