Just below theĀ headlines in this October 1950 issue, a second article boasted of an enrollment of 1,684 students of which 600 were high schoolers. A third article informed that āBig Berthaā (Dillardās bus), had gotten a new paint job over the summer. Thus, the era of the fifties was ushered in with grand style. Dillard was a new face in a new place.
