   A lot of the people that I have contact with and can discuss concerns without the fear of being made to feel uncomfortable will only pray to ask for something or when they find themselves, friends or family members in the thick of unwanted situations. They also limit their sphere of prayers to a close knitted tight circle of people they know.

     Like the minister during the storm and Moses in his time and place of need, when we shout out our needs in anguish, He will bring us into His presence and hide us in His care.

     The charismatic and ever so eloquent, witty, fiery and most intelligent and articulate, The Honorable Congressman Alcee Hastings, left an indelible reminder of what our purpose should be in championing the cause of the poor, least privileged and the young.  

     With all hope of survival fading faster than water vapor in the Mohave Desert, God appears and says to the child struggling in its own blood, “Live.”

     As we go through this hurricane, let’s be mindful that when we ask and pray that we’re not placing our burdens and crisis on others. For it is our cross to bear – whatever it is that God has for us is for us. And God will make away! He has done it before, He’s doing it now and He will do it again.

     I made up more excuses than the number of hickeys on an alligator’s head as to why it wasn’t my fault.
