      Florida A&M University (FAMU) President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., signed an agreement with the University of Haifa that will expand study abroad options for FAMU students.

     “We’re focusing on what we define as ‘full repair,’” he told The Final Call. “A lot of people don’t have a clear idea of what reparations is especially in light of all the presidential candidates’ talk that is steadily being generated around reparations. N’COBRA understands that reparations means full repair of our people.”

     This further increases the risk for voters going into the 2020 election. Studies show the time we are least acceptable to change is when all appears well. Honestly, do you think county leaders are more inclined to implement additional safeguards now that they’ve been cleared?

  “It’s not easy being Black and male in America. Despite historic gains made in the last 50 years, Black males from all walks of life continue to face challenges and hardships that have created significant disparities in the areas that are most critical to ensuring that our boys have equal opportunities to develop the skills required to become successful men,” said Rep. Sergeant Major Gilbert “Hashmark” Johnson is documented as the first African American to become a drill sergeant in the Marine Corps. In 1943 Johnson was trained  to become one the first African American Drill instructors and two years prior he was on the USS Wyoming during the Pearl Harbor bombing as a member of the U.S Navy.

     Elizabeth Barker Johnson, a 99-year-old World War II veteran, finally accepted her college diploma seven decades after she completed her undergraduate career.

     Tupac Mosley, 17, received a text from his mother Tuesday evening asking him if he felt overwhelmed from the attention he is getting after receiving $3 million in scholarships and getting recognized as his high school’s valedictorian with a 4.3 GPA. 

     Early on the morning of Monday May 20th, hundreds of African American and minority male middle and high school students from twenty of South Florida’s local schools made their way to Hard Rock Stadium for the Football Unites ™ Police and Youth Conference hosted by the Miami Dolphins.  This conference was designed to provide youth from the 5000 Role Models of Excellence program the opportunity to positively interact and create better relationships with local law enforcement officers.
