The Pompano Beach Cultural Center is proud to present Fushu Daiko’s 30th Anniversary Virtual Concert. This immersive performance was recorded live with multiple cameras and will provide each viewer with a front row seat during this joyous event. Fushu Daiko combines taiko drums and rhythms of Japan with styles such as jazz and rhythm & blues to create an exciting, powerful, cross-cultural experience. Once upon a time, no-excuse Vote-By-Mail (VBM) did not exist and neither did Early Voting. We only voted on Election Day, meaning there was only one place where you could vote (your precinct), and there was someone there to guide you through the process. VBM has made it easier in some ways, but harder in other ways.

We have Miramar High, where the principal reported Monday that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. Central Park Elementary reported that a male student was sent home Friday by the isolation nurse with flu like symptoms. “The father took student to doctor to be tested and will notify school immediately of results.” It’s unclear if those results have come back.
Synonymous with the Christmas season, “ringing the bell” at a Salvation Army Red Kettle has been a tradition since 1895. It’s not just about ringing a bell, however. All proceeds from the Kettle stay in Broward County and support the Salvation Army’s feeding, shelter and social service programs. Last year, the nonprofit organization raised more than $213,205 for the Greater Fort Lauderdale community.
