  Beginning February 1, BSO has the honor of showcasing an extraordinary collection of memorabilia and rare, never-before-seen photos at the Broward County Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale.  The exhibit, titled The Broward Sheriff’s Office: A Century of Progress in Public Safety, takes you on an intriguing journey showcasing BSO’s transformation from a small police force serving a modest farming community to one of the largest, most progressive and inclusive full-service public safety agencies in the country.

     The reverse Robin Hood idea that people with devilish intentions can take from the poor, uneducated, unrefined and disillusioned and give to the rich is basically a plot and scheme to rob the racists.

This starve also unveils how Saul, the King, who should’ve defended his people against Goliath, was unfit to rule. Thus, David, a young boy, was chosen to engage in combat to defend Israel. David, with just a mere sling, launched a single stone striking Goliath, who stood eight feet, between his eyes and killing him.

       Thomas Jennings was not only an abolitionist who fought for equal rights for all Americans, but he was also a brilliant inventor. Thomas Jennings invented the commercial dry-cleaning process he called “dry-scouring,” receiving a patent in 1821 and becoming the first African American to be granted a patent in the United States.

February is  Black History Month, which means that every year we remember the African Americans who have made history and made America what it is today — often with little recognition.

The City of Miramar is excited to announce the return of the Afro Carib Festival on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Amphitheater at Miramar Regional Park, 16801 Miramar Parkway. Grammy nominated and contemporary Reggae superstar Protoje, Afrobeats star Afro B known for his hit song, “Drogba (Joanna)” and Puerto Rican Reggaeton artist EIX, will headline the highly anticipated event that celebrates Black History Month through the music that represents South Florida’s unique combination of Black cultures. 

      Coming soon: The City of Fort Lauderdale will officially unveil the street signs, adding Rubin Stacy as a secondary name to a 2.1-mile segment of Davie Boulevard. The Resolution was passed by the City of Fort Lauderdale Commission on June 15, 2021. At the request of the family, the street signs will read “Rubin Stacy Memorial Boulevard”.
