Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia; California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger; Candace Jackson-Akiwumi, who sits on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago; and J. Michelle Childs, a federal district court judge based in Columbia, South Carolina, are all viewed as strong candidates for the nomination.

     The former alderman in Evanston, Illinois, made history in 2019 when she successfully instituted a reparations program specifically geared toward her city’s Black constituents who are linked to earlier generations of racist discrimination. Simmons’ efforts have unequivocally helped bolster interest in pending legislation for a national reparations program.

     At this time in the justice system, no one knows the extent of the prosecutorial misconduct, because a large percent of attorneys break the law on a daily basis.  The system is set up for the lawyers to lie, and there are too many cases to worry about a few hundred. At this time, there are no reliable systems for holding prosecutors accountable for their misdeeds.

     It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone in America and especially to Black people that ex-officer Kim Potter received a heartfelt sentencing for murdering Daunte Wright. If Officer Potter killed a Public Safety Dog, under Minnesota Statutes Sec. 609.596, she could’ve received not more than two years or to pay a fine of not more than $5000, or both.

     For the most part, Canadian truckers are lucky enough NOT to have the same well-earned awful reputation that Deep Southern redneck American truckers have here stateside, where being a trucker is generally thought of as your low-IQ ra-cist White Trash man’s way of attempting to commit statutory rape on a daily basis. And don’t even get me started on the Teamsters and their reputation! Does anyone find Jimmy Hoffa yet?

     Legendary singer James Brown performed in front of a televised audience in Boston the day after Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. Brown is often given credit for preventing further riots with the performance.

With the midterm elections in November, Republicans are positioned to retake the U.S. House and Senate, and killing any hopes of D.C. statehood.
