 America’s Democracy is facing  an even deadlier threat. Unfortunately, this threat is emanating from the Republican Party. It’s as though they’re infected with an anti-Democracy virus, which is like autothysis. This is a condition whereby insects intentionally inject themselves with their own venom as a defense mechanism to kill enemies attempting to devour them.

 It’s the time of year that you may be suffering the Christmas parking blues. Don’t fret, pull up your chair and get out the wrapping paper. Get a glass of eggnog and put a splash of rum in it. Readers, a splash does not mean half the bottle of rum. Here is a red flag if after your 2nd glass of eggnog, you find yourself guzzling the open bottle… It is officially “Nap-time” friend.  Put the rum down and go sleep it off! 

So how many pastors does the Arbery family have? As many as they want. Black folks around the nation and the world are praying for a just result in this trial. We are praying for a judicial ruling that the massacre of Black people is unacceptable. We are praying for an examination of this nonsense called “citizen’s arrest.” And we are praying for our leaders, our pastors, our brothers to keep the faith and keep representing.

Today Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN)  announced it is committing more than $21 million to pilot a professional training, mentorship, and capital funding program to help promote real estate developers of color. This two-year, parttime professional development program, which is free for participants, aims to teach real estate developers of color how to advance their careers. It also aims to lower the barriers these developers can face when bidding for affordable housing developments. The goal of the program is to increase the number of professional real estate developers of color who are focused on affordable housing and inclusive community building.

     In an early analysis, a second ongoing study that was designed to test whether the pill, called Paxlovid, relieved covid-19 symptoms faster in people who are not considered high risk found no benefit for symptom relief. But the pill regimen did cause the amount of virus in patients’ bodies to plummet and reduced the already low risk of hospitalization and death, though the result was at the edge of statistical significance, a sign that it could be due to chance.

     The South Dade Alphas launched the environmental justice component of their initiative by creating a community garden at Avant School of Excellence, 777 West Palm Drive in Florida City on Saturday, December 11, 2021. The school-site garden will educate students on the benefits of organic farming, proper nutrition, gentrification, housing and environmental justice, advocacy, and career opportunities in the food science and agricultural industry.
