On Thursday, the mother of a missing 14-year-old girl who was found safe in New York City has been charged with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Jamie Moore, 39, has allegations of physical abuse and neglect charges against her.

This holiday season, Sheriff Gregory Tony and the Broward Sheriff’s Office Special Events and Logistics Unit will continue BSO’s annual Thanksgiving turkey event.

     Major life events and turbulent situations can inspire change. It can also inspire groups to be formed. Groups like the Black Panther Party or NWA are just minor examples of a long list of advocates. In 2018, artist Jai Tahlea Allen-Ible created The Uproar Project to marry her passion for the arts, social activism, and community service. We had the opportunity to catch up with the founder to discuss the organization and the origin.

     The Women of Veteran’s Affairs, also known as WOVA, held their first annual Wreath and Flag Placement Ceremony on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fort Lauderdale. The event was blessed with beautiful weather and many former military personnel and supporters in attendance. 

“We’ve accomplished what Washington has long promised but never done – a historic investment in this country’s infrastructure,” President Biden exclaimed.

   “After many years of Infrastructure Weeks and promises that yielded no results, President Biden signed into law today the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. I am proud to be one of just five co-sponsors of this historic legislation and prouder still to deliver nearly $20 billion in infrastructure funding to Florida.

      Republicans in a desperate attempt to regain the presidency as well as control of the Senate and House have decided that Democracy is no longer their cup of tea. Rather, they’re behaving as raging power-hungry lunatics. Their lunacy poses a greater threat to our Democracy than COVID-19. Scientists developed a vaccine for COVID-19 in less than two years. However, there’s a powerful antidote that can limit the affects Republicans’ anti-democracy ideology. Unfortunately, it takes quite a while before it takes effect.

     We need to protect young girls, and kittens, from pedophiles and others that would harm and molest them.

Should your child be vaccinated?

   I imagine Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott would hate if their dogs or cats were treated the way animals on factory farms are. The reality is there isn’t much difference between the furry companions we love and the livestock we slaughter. That’s why our legislators should support increased federal funding for cultivated-meat research.
