      People who are opposed to building and funding a new police and firefighter training center in metro Atlanta are asking citizens to sign petitions to place the “Cop City” issue on the ballot so the destiny of the proposal can be decided by voters.

      Inflation and taxes guarantee each successive generation is not better off than the previous generation, and its worse for Blacks.

   In case you missed it for whatever reason, Bunnell Elementary School in Flagler County, Florida — a school district already notorious for their low test scores — pulled all of its Black fourth and fifth graders into an assembly late last month where they were shown a PowerPoint presentation that blamed them for the school’s low scores on state standardized tests.

     The blood disease affects about 100,000 Americans and 1 out of every 365 Black or African American births. Black folks are most affected by it. A child inherits sickle cell disease when both parents have the sickle cell trait or one or both parents have the disease.

     If we are to “THRIVE TOGETHER” we must understand, believe in and practice the principles of “to whom much is given much is required” and that means sharing, supporting, promoting, protecting and willing to die for each other. How do we get there to appreciate the values of “THRIVING TOGETHER”? The best way to begin is to show dependence upon God by spending more time in His presence. In this constant struggle to remain relevant, free Black and Proud,  we must without a doubt, as a good friend once said, “hang together. If we don’t hang together, they will hang us separately.”
