In light of the unprecedented devastation Hurricane Dorian has wrought on the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the ensuing humanitarian crisis, we write to respectfully request that your administration provide additional assistance by waiving or suspending certain visa requirements to facilitate the reunification of Bahamians with U.S. relatives.

As the CBCF prepares for its 49th ALC, the focus for all involved will be on social, political and economic issues influencing African Americans and all individuals of African descent, said CBCF President and CEO David A. Hinson.

     Three courageous and caring City of Hollywood residents banded together and worked to ensure that the remains of these individuals were finally treated with honor and decency. Slain Civil Rights Leader’s Story told in ‘Bomb Heard Around the World’

     On August 19, New York City Police Commissioner James O’Neill announced the firing of Officer Daniel Pantaleo. Pantaleo. Pantaleo choked Eric Garner, 43, to death on a sidewalk in Staten Island New York on July 17, 2014, after Pantaleo stopped Garner for selling loose cigarettes.

     The two-week-long observance included a Monday, August 19, visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture which was followed by a trip to Ghana, West Africa, and onto Jamestown – thus the organization’s theme: “Jamestown to Jamestown.”
