     During this week of Kwanzaa celebrations, we have connected with The Pride Center, a gay and lesbian community center, the Westside Gazette, a Black-owned newspaper, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Stonewall National Museum, BTAN, and the World AIDS Museum. We are grateful for the collaboration and commitment to this week of Kwanzaa Celebrations.

 “Ironically, this ruling comes barely a month after numerous Republicans stood for reelection while campaigning on the false premise that they actually cared about people with pre-existing conditions and were committed to protecting them. The American people were not fooled by these disingenuous claims, and many of these Republicans lost.”

     State education chiefs and their in-state partners at teaching and research institutions plus educators on the front lines have a real chance to make a difference for Black students and other minorities. But do they have the courage to make the necessary changes?

Bass has continued to represent the 37th congressional district of California by being an active voice for criminal justice reform, fighting for America’s foster care system, and strengthening the United States ties with Africa. Now Bass will have the opportunity to continue making change in her new role as the chair of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC).
