This is the largest class of the program in seven years at the college. They will be hired immediately to teach third grade in Duval County Public Schools. There are only two percent of Black male teachers in public schools in Florida.

Madelyn McClarey graduated from Florida A&M University on May 4 with a degree in English and a minor in education. Her twin sons, Aaron and Aubrey Hough, both earned scholarships to FAMU which led McClarey to take a leave of absence from her job and come to Tallahassee to go to school with them.
