Browsing: Growing the Voices of Our Future

       This being my first year in high school, I wanted to try something new with my extracurricular activities.   In middle school, I was introduced to the flute, track and field, and soccer, but I never quite got a grip on it. So this year in high school, I decided to test out an engineering class.

Once again, voter disenfranchisement is real and every time we take a step forward, we take two steps back. If we all go out and vote, we can make change. I know it may be hard to do so, but we have to.

       More times than none Harris was interrupted. However, she did not say or do anything disrespectful. She just politely said, “Vice president, I’m speaking.” She had to repeat herself throughout the debate with this simple statement. She never acted out of character.

       At the start of this school year, many students didn’t have the opportunity to go back to school with all their peers. Thankfully, my school was able to allow the students back, but only at half capacity.

       The death of Breonna Taylor, a Black medical worker who was shot and killed by Louisville police, continues to draw attention.

       In my opinion, that is so disrespectful. If Trump were to empathize and put himself in Velshi’s shoes, he would not think it was a “beautiful sight.” As I continue to say every single week, we have to vote! We will never experience the change needed if we don’t vote.

Tuesday, September 16, is my mother’s birthday. I wanted to wish her a happy birthday, and I hope she enjoys it. I am thankful for all you do for me and the family, and for all the sacrifices you make to provide for me
