Tools for Schools, Broward County’s largest back to school drive, has kicked off and BrightStar Credit Union is once again one of this year’s proud participants. The school supply drive is organized by Broward Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of Broward County Public School students by helping them receive a quality education. Donations will be accepted for the first time both virtually and in person.

Florida A&M University (FAMU) spent more than $16 million to cover fees, tuition and unpaid student account balances during the 2020-2021 school year, President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., has announced.
Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and parent company NextEra Energy announced the NextEra Energy Scholarship for Black Students in SECME, which is a merit award of up to $20,000 for college-bound high school seniors who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university for the entire upcoming 2021-2022 academic year.
Allison Grubbs has been named the new Director for the Broward County Libraries Division. She has held the position of Interim Director since February 2021, after joining Broward County Library (BCL) in June 2019 as Libraries Division Assistant Director.
