The report, issued jointly by the UN Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) and the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR), states that most of the 26 gangs currently operating in Haiti are involved in child trafficking. Children are forced into a range of activities, from running errands and collecting extortion payments to violent acts, including kidnappings, property destruction, targeted killings, and sexual abuse.

Women are making history everyday, but we designate March as the main month for celebrating. In music, women normally almost always dominate, especially at the Grammy Awards. Although we normally would anticipate music’s biggest night in February, the event got postponed due to COVID-19. This year’s awards ceremony saw three big historic wins for females and several first time veterans that became first time Grammy Winners. Stars like Beyonce, Meg Tha Stallion, and Tiffany Haddish were some of the more memorable wins of the night.
It’s no secret that racism and bias ran rampant in the film industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. Film producers and casting agents seldom chose Black actors for roles that were not rooted in some damaging stereotype. Stars such as Diahann Carroll, Dorothy Dandridge, and Lena Horne are just a few of the many bombshells who, against all odds, successfully forged a path for other women of color who would come after them. They were also pioneers who fought to close the income gap between Black and White actors, and demanded more respectable roles for Black actors in major motion pictures.
