JAZZ IN THE GARDENs ANNOUNCES 2020 LINEUP FOR THE 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EVENT ON MARCH 14-15, 2020
MIAMI GARDENS, FL — Jazz in the Gardens announced the 2020 lineup for the 15th anniversary of the event today at the City of Miami Gardens press conference. This year, Live Nation Urban and Live Nation Miami have signed on as partners to produce the festival in Miami Gardens at Hard Rock Stadium on March 14-15, 2020. The festival will showcase impactful and influential artists, including Mary J Blige, Jill Scott, Charlie Wilson, H.E.R, Kirk Franklin, SWV, and Stokely from Mint Condition with more to be announced. Rickey Smiley will once again return as the host for the 2020 Jazz in the Gardens Festival.
The Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department is proud to present the 2nd Annual Exit 36 Slam Poetry Festival, an enriching and entertaining showcase of the best local, national and international spoken word artists and writers. Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) presents Building a Feminist Archive: Cuban Women Photographers in the US; an exhibition that features ten women artists whose works in photography provide a glimpse into diverse histories of migration, community, activism and resistance.
Christmas came with a new funky beat back in 1979 when Kurtis Blow released the rap classic, Christmas Rappin’. The chart-topping single became an instant sensation, selling more than 400,000 copies. Blow, nee Kurtis Walker, was twenty years old when Mercury signed him to the label, making him the first rap artist to sign with a major label.
