     From films like Porgy and Bess to hit songs like “The Candy Man,” Sammy Davis Jr. played an integral role in shaping the landscape of the entertainment industry and now his contributions will be the focus of a new biopic. According to Deadline, MGM is slated to release a film about Davis’ journey.

      Throughout his entire career, renowned author Walter Mosley has penned powerful, thought-provoking pieces of work and now the bestselling novelist will be honored for his contributions to the literary world. The National Book Foundation announced that Mosley will be the recipient of its 2020 lifetime achievement award.

     Stanley Crouch, the lauded and fiery jazz critic, has died. According to an announcement by his wife, Gloria Nixon-Crouch, Stanley Crouch died at the Calvary Hospital in New York on Wednesday, following nearly a decade of serious health issues.
