We are launching the Know Thyself Grassroots Movement not as a program, but as a reckoning. A spiritual awakening. A cultural uprising. A return to the power buried beneath generations of distortion. From the sacred walls of the Luxor Temple in ancient Kemet (Egypt) comes the eternal command: “Man, know thyself, and you will know the gods.” This was not poetry, it was instruction. Among ancient Nile Valley people, to know oneself was to unlock the divine force within. And somewhere along the journey of African history… we were taught to forget.

South Florida residents will be treated to “An Evening of Comedy and Culture” featuring Jamaica’s top comedy duo, Ity & Fancy Cat; renowned actor, educator and standup comic, Blakka Ellis; entertainer and musician extraordinaire Harold Davis; the young; and talented singer Kristen Alicia along with other performers.
South Florida was blessed with a sterling performance by Blues icon Buddy Guy. At almost 82-years-old he brings the energy like a 25-year-old! This 8 time Grammy Award winner blasted the house from his opening tune.
In addition to beach, warm days and cucumber cool evenings, spring brings my favorite time of the year – Jazz in the Gardens! With the success of their 14th annual concert this past weekend, I must salute the organizers for a job well done.
