       After returning to Fort Lauderdale, she and her sisters attended the Old Dillard School. She loved playing basketball and singing with the Chorus.  In 1955, history was made by her performance to sing on the PBS Channel accompanied by her chorus teacher Mrs. Rhoda Snead. Because of her academics acumen – Class of 1955 – she was chosen as Salutatorian.

The family of Atatiana Jefferson, an African American mother from Fort Worth, Texas, who was shot and killed by a police officer in October 2019, has reached a proposed $11.25 million settlement with the city. The agreement comes nearly six years after her death.

     On February 3, 2023, old-school music invaded the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center.  Mayor Ken Thurston of Lauderhill hosted a night of feel-good music during the 21st Annual MLK Old School Music Celebration, featuring headliner SWV, along with performing artists Maxi Priest, Blackstreet, and special guest the Old Skool Gang.  DJ Big Man Kelly kept the crowd on their feet spinning hit after hit.  

     The writers and directors of this amazing, tech-savvy mystery thriller know how to cut things close. That’s because they were the editors on the cult classic Searching. Back in 2018, that taut dra/hor/mys starred John Cho and built its fear from the ground up—with normal people. That movie’s writer/director Aneesh Chaganty and co-writer Sev Ohanian produced this new spawn. That movie’s editors, Will Merrick and Nick Johnson, wrote and directed Missing. A very modern feel for storytelling using electronic components is being passed along in this standalone sequel.
