Biz Markie, the rapper, producer, and actor whose hits included “Just a Friend” and “Nobody Beats the Biz,” has died at the age of 57.
Since the world is opening back up again, it is only right that things go back to normal in entertainment. As scheduled, the Emmy nominations were revealed last week. Television was a huge part of the pandemic, that is pretty much the best activity while being locked up at home. In 2020, “Genius” Aretha, the docuseries that starred Cynthia Erivo as “The Queen of Soul” premiered.
According to Billboard Magazine, reps for WE tv announced that on August 12, the lifestyle/entertainment outlet will air a multi-part docuseries titled “The Mysterious Death of Eazy-E.” This television series will chronicle the life, legacy, and passing of legendary Ruthless Records co-founder Eric “Eazy-E” Wright (pictured). The famed rap performer, N.W.A. front man, and executive producer died after being diagnosed with full-blown AIDS on March 26, 1995.
On August 23, 1989, Yusuf Hawkins, a 16-year-old Brooklynite from East New York, traveled to the unfamiliar Brooklyn neighborhood of Bensonhurst with friends contemplating the purchase of used 1982 Pontiac. Unbeknownst to him, the largely Italian/American community was hostile to Blacks. Some male teenagers misidentified him as an interloper there to meet a White homegirl, Gina Feliciano, and attend her birthday party.
